Most people have family relationships and/or personal relationships. Whenever two or more people live together and/or love one another, there can be miscommunication leading to misunderstanding. The goal of working with couples or families is to improve the relationship between two or more people. It is not to find fault or blame with one person. When I work with families or couples, I counsel on behalf of their relationship, providing a safe, neutral space for couples or families to explore their communication and understanding of one another. We set collaborative goals, and the individuals often have some ‘homework’ to do between sessions so that new, mutually agreed upon strategies can be practiced.

Relationship counselling can help to improve:

• Communication
• Understanding of each other
Compassion and empathy
• Fun in the relationship
• Boundaries
• Love ties
• Mutual goals for the future
